Hoops are divided into two categories – portable (they can be moved from place to place) and in-ground (they are mounted in the ground and remain in one place forever). If you have decided where you have a court and do not plan to change the location of it, then an in-ground basketball stand is a great option: once installed, you do not need to think about it anymore.
If you plan to change the location of the basketball hoop, then there is an excellent solution – a portable basketball. It consists of a base into which water is poured, the actual rack, and a basketball backboard. Wheels are made at the bottom of the base to move the structure. The base can be filled with water or sand. If you pour water, be sure to pour it out in the winter, otherwise the liquid will turn into ice and the plastic base will break up. We recommend filling with coolant or filling with sand for the entire service life.
It is important to understand that a backboard, especially a large one, has a windage, and in a strong wind, the stand can fall, damaging the ring and ruining some things on the site. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to fill the base to the maximum.
After you have decided on the type of rack – portable or in-ground – you need to decide on the material of the basketball backboard and its size.
Depending on the size of if, the price of the product also changes. It is important to understand that it is more convenient to play with a larger surface, because basketball players actively use the rebound of the ball in the game. With a small diagonal, this is difficult.

Polycarbonate is an improved (compared to composite) ball bounce, it is transparent, and is quite suitable for amateur games.
Acrylic basketball backboard offers good ball bounce for professional and amateur competition (for me, for my advanced-amateur level, this is ideal). Basketball backboards made of tempered glass are used for high-level professional games, providing a perfect ball rebound.
