Some people think smoking is not injurious to health but it is wrong. The cigarette is made up of nicotine, acetone, carbon monoxide, and tar which are very harmful chemicals for the entire body. When you inhale the smoke of the cigarette, it starts to damage the whole body organs.

Somebody organs are affected slowly but some affect rapidly. Smoking increases the risk factor of disease and your body becomes vulnerable. So, different diseases easily attack this weak body easily.

Skin Issues

The largest organ of the body is our skin and also called the first defensive line of the body. If your defense line is not healthy how will you save yourself from germs?

During smoking, the smoker gets different negative effects of smoking on his skin. Different substances of cigarettes damage the skin cells, due to which skin becomes dry and wrinkled.

Smoking also affects the flow of blood because of which your skin cannot get the proper nutrition to remain fresh and healthy. Your skin tone becomes dull and dehydrated.

Vision Problems

Smokers suffer from eye vision issues more rapidly than non-smokers. There is a chance of different eye diseases in future smokers can face. Macular degeneration, glaucoma, and cataracts are diseases that can affect any smoker.

Heart Diseases

The heart is an important body organ. The working of the heart is to pump the blood to the whole body. Smoking affects the function of the heart. Smoking causes heart attack not only in smokers but also in second-hand smokers. Passive smoking is the major cause of heart attack.

Tobacco in cigarettes increases your cholesterol level (LDL) and triglycerides which increases fat in the blood. Fats tighten the blood vessels that disturb the flow of blood to the body organs, especially the heart. When the heart receives less amount of blood, its pumping slows down which can infect the heart at a dangerous level (can cause a heart attack).

Tobacco is also the main cause of blood clotting that parts a major role in heart attack, pulmonary embolism, and strokes. 

Lungs and Bronchitis Infections

Lungs effect by nicotine become more vulnerable to lung cancer. Most of the deaths occur due to this lung cancer. According to CDC (Center for Disease Control), cancer is the most common cause of death in the world.  

Not only lung cancer but smoking is also a source of pneumonia, cold, fever, asthma, persistent coughing, etc. Pneumonia and cold are the productions of bronchitis infection. Passive smoking can also cause pneumonia and cold in children especially.

Smoking irritates and destroys the lung’s tissues which lessens the number of blood vessels and airspaces. The lack of more airspaces decreases the amount of oxygen towards the specific part of the body.

Less availability of oxygen causes the coughing in the smokers called smokers cough.

Loss of Appetite

Substances present in the cigarette suppress all senses of a smoker. One of them is a sense of taste that decreases due to nicotine and other chemicals that lessen the appetite of smokers. Loss in appetite means a loss in weight that is injurious to the health.  

Although smoking has a negative effect on health and is no doubt considered the main source of organ damage. These affected areas can become healthy again by abandoning the cigarette. When you left smoking, the damaging part of the body starts healing and attains its real condition after a specific tie duration.

Depression

Smoking initially feels like it fights grievances and allows you to relax. However, the feeling of pleasure is short-lived and can cause psychological issues in the long run. Consuming tobacco for a long time can cause significant psychological damage.

When you inhale nicotine, it binds to nicotinic receptors in the brain. These receptors stimulate the production of neurotransmitters like dopamine. The release of dopamine gives a sudden pleasure while the nicotine lasts. As the release of dopamine becomes dependent on nicotine consumption. It may show symptoms of anxiety and depression when you do not take it regularly. Depression and anxiety occur together and it may result in shaking of the body.
